Blu-ray optical disc is a next-generation to what we all know now: DVD. Traditional DVD has red laser, the long wavelengths, making the storage capacity on a disk. Blu-Ray with a blue laser with much shorter wavelengths. Since the wave length on the Blu-Ray are much smaller, can be on a course with much precision, so that the data are much more wrapped noted that the red laser DVD. Blu-Ray discs can store up to 50 GB of information which is 10 times the DVD 4.5GB. 10 times storage significantly increases the amount of information that can be put on a disk and changes the way we store the information. Double-layer Blu-Ray is capable of up to 4 hours of high-definition video. High-definition video will be very important here to beat Blu-Ray is an example of a technology that will be implemented.
